I DESPISE all sad attempts to try and make gijinkas ‘diverse.’ Yes, before you keep on reading, I am technically Muslim. I am non-religious, but you can trace my whole family tree to the Middle East.
A WOMAN WHO IS NOT IN A MIDDLE-EASTERN COUNTRY AND IS NOT ORTHODOX DOES NOT WEAR THE…
I’m not sure if I should laugh, cry or facepalm really hard.
so basically what you’re saying is, if you’re a muslim woman in a non-middle eastern country…you shouldn’t wear the hijab because it’s a culture/ethnicity thing?
clearly it’s not, this is a belief, a choice you make in your heart and live by.
just because you’re in a different country doesn’t mean you pack your bags and forget to pack your religion with it.
because it’s not a thing to turn on and off when you like.
if it was related to culture and not islam, I would’ve taken mine off years ago because then it has nothing do with my beliefs.
to wear it for the sake of people and not my belief and self is very pointless.
true it is your choice not to wear hijab, but that doesn’t change the fact that islam is in many countries other than the middle eastern ones, and hijab is a very important part in this religion.
most muslim women wear it, no matter what race they are or where they live, keeping in mind it’s only worn in certain situations.
so calling a hijabi woman a “stereotype”?………please.
and to answer your question about why those who draw hijabi girls color them as tan or dark skinned is because most muslims shown in media are from the middle east or near it.
and most people there have darker skin, yet those with fair white skin exist but not as much when compared to the majority, which is why most people think muslim’s must be tan in all cases.
which is not exactly right but not completely wrong, because islam exist in many races, in all skin tones.
so it would be best if you don’t speak about this when you clearly don’t know half of it.
before giving out false information, “you” should’ve researched about islam, maybe then you’d have a better understanding about what hijab is and what it means.
as for the hijabi fluttershy thing, it’s the artist’s choice no? just like you not wearing the hijab.
you could always look away and ignore…like your vast knowledge about islam and the middle east.
